Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market 2026: Dates, Opening Hours and Visitor Guide

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market returns from Thursday 5 November to Thursday 24 December 2026, filling Victoria Square and New Street in the city centre. With more than 80 Bavarian-style stalls, it is described as the largest authentic German Christmas market outside Germany and Austria.
The market runs for seven weeks, closing on Christmas Eve, and is easy to reach: the nearest station is Birmingham New Street, right beside the market.

Victoria Square
Victoria Square is the heart of the market, holding the main run of Bavarian-style stalls. This is where most visitors start, and it is also where the market is at its busiest on Friday and Saturday evenings, when stalls stay open until 9.30pm.
New Street
The market continues along New Street, which connects Victoria Square with the Bullring area. The stalls here form part of the same market, so the whole site can be walked in one visit without needing to cross the city centre.
Centenary Square: ice rink and Big Wheel
The ice rink and Big Wheel at Centenary Square are part of Birmingham’s Christmas offer, but they are separate from the market itself and are ticketed separately. Both run from 5 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, so they stay open after the market closes on Christmas Eve. If you are visiting after 24 December, the rink and Big Wheel are still running even though the market stalls have gone.
Opening hours in full
The market opens at 11am on weekdays and at 10am on Saturdays and Sundays. Closing times are 9pm on Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday. There is one exception: on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November, the market opens later, at 1pm.
